9 Ways to Entertain Kids in the Triangle

Our REALTORS® know kids look forward to summer vacation all year, but by the time July rolls around, they're probably shouting, "I'm bored!"

Fair enough – but there's never a dull moment in the Triangle. With plenty of family-friendly fun around every corner, there's always something new to do.

The biggest question is: Where should you and the kids go first?

That's a tall order, so here are our picks for enjoyable outings:

  1. Let's Roam Raleigh – 500 South Salisbury Street, Raleigh, NC  2760
    This app-driven scavenger hunt will give you the opportunity to roam the cultural, historical, and natural treasures of Raleigh. Let's Roam Raleigh is a true adventure, all not far from the top Raleigh homes for sale. No tour guides or reservations required.

  2. Storytime on the Roof – 315 East Chapel Hill Street, Durham, NC 27701
    Sponsored by North Regional Library – the leading library serving Durham homes for saleStorytime on the Roof, held every first Wednesday of the month, will enchant youngsters. It all takes place right on the roof of the historic Durham Hotel, a major attraction for tourists and locals alike.

  3. Kidzu Children's Museum - 201 S Estes Dr, Chapel Hill, NC 27514
    Kidzu Children's Museum is a hands-on children's museum--for ages infant to tween--dedicated to inspiring area children and their families through exhibits and programs to promote creativity, collaboration, and community.  Kidzu is a short drive from some of the best Chapel Hill homes for sale.

  4. Kids Bowl Free – 413 South Brooks Street, Wake Forest, NC, 27587
    Wake Forest homes for sale have a lot to recommend them, and here's one more thing: Kids bowl free throughout the summer at Brooks Street Bowl. All you have to do is register in advance on the Kids Bowl Free site. The offer runs all the way to October.

  5. Last Friday Concert Series – 106 East King Street, Hillsborough, NC 27278
    Hillsborough homes for sale will rock and roll with the Last Friday Concert Series, which runs 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. July 26 and other "last Fridays" through September. Take your kids to hear the distinctive summer sounds of salsa band, Orquesta GarDel, this month!

  6. Friday Family Flicks – Lake Benson Park, 921 Buffaloe Road, Garner, NC 27529
    Outdoor movies are a popular summer pastime in the Triangle, but the event near Garner homes for sale is the best for kids! Friday Family Flicks is an initiative of Lake Benson Park. Admission is free to see Mary Poppins Returns this July.
