Durham Easter Events
One of the sweetest things about moving to a new home is the opportunity to start new traditions with your family. Easter will be here soon, but if you're already eager to get festive and usher in spring, don't worry! Durham won't wait until April 21 to start celebrating. As you look for Durham homes for sale, check out some of our annual Easter activities too. The holiday fun lasts all month in Durham, so there's no shortage of family-friendly festivities to fill your weekends.

Here are some of our favorite ways to celebrate Easter around Durham:

  • Spring Egg Dive, 2000 S Alston Ave, Durham
If baskets are a little too basic for your family, take a plunge for your eggs instead. This year's Spring Egg Dive takes place Saturday, April 6 from 5:30-7 pm, at the Campus Hills Pool. Instead of scouring a park, kids and adults alike are invited to splash around the Durham pool looking for eggs.

This unusual Easter event gets everyone in the water for an evening of swimming, diving, and winning fun prizes. Durham Parks & Recreation provides life vests for swimmers who need them, but adults must accompany kids younger than 10.
  • Easter Eggstravaganza - Epworth United Methodist Church, 3002 Hope Valley Rd, Durham
Rain or shine (inside if it rains), Epworth United Methodist Church will sponsor their 2019 Easter Eggstravaganza on be Saturday, April 13 from 3-5 pm.  Enjoy an Easter egg hunt, a bounce house, crafts, games, and more!

  • West Point Egg Hunt and Dog-Gone Egg Hunt, 5101 N Roxboro St, Durham
Want to watch your kids and dogs scramble for prizes in a historic riverfront park? Bring the whole family to the West Point on the Eno Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 13. The kids' hunt starts at 10:30 am, and believe it or not, the dogs take over at 1 pm.

This is the park's 32nd annual egg hunt, and it has grown throughout the years to include photo-ops with the Easter Bunny, interactive games and crafts, face-painting stations, and more. Of course, it's the canines-only egg hunt that will truly make your day. Here in Durham, Easter goes to the dogs in the most adorable way.

  • Campus Hills Egg Hunt, 2000 S Alston Ave, Durham
As kids scramble across West Point on the Eno, another egg hunt will take place across town. Come to the Campus Hills Egg Hunt at 10 am for a festive search party that's open to kids 12 and under. Each participant gets a fake tattoo, a picture with the Easter Bunny, and a chance to collect eggs with special prizes inside.
  • The Eggcellent Easter Eggperience, Twin Lakes Park, 435 Chandler Rd, Durham
Join Teens with Dreams on Saturday, April 20 at Twin Lakes Park from 1-4 pm as they give back to the Durham community by hosting an Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Basket giveaway! Bring your child(ren) to enjoy an EGGcellent Easter.
