The first allotment of 2,500 turkeys was handed out just before Thanksgiving and another 2,000 birds will be donated ahead of Christmas.

Are you out and about chasing down the best Black Friday deals in town? Scoring holiday gifts for your loved ones and friends (and yourself) will be a fantastic feat, but imagine the joy finding your new home will bring.
You may have heard that spring and summer are the time to buy, but there are many reasons you should consider house hunting during the cold winter months.
It's common for buyer-competition to thin out in the winter as many people prefer to house hunt during the warmer seasons when the school year is waning.
Winter home sellers are often more motivated to close a deal than those selling during the peak season. They may be relocating for a job promotion, hoping to get a sale squared away before the new year, or simply ready to get their real estate journey underway.
Winter weather can tax a home. From the roof and gutters to the HVAC, plumbing and drafty doors, cold temperatures may reveal issues that you would otherwise have overlooked in warmer months.
Let our Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston real estate agents help you find the home you seek. Our listings agents will be happy to host you at their open houses this Saturday and Sunday.

Today and always, we are thankful for you.
Happy Thanksgiving from our Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston team!
Be present in all things and thankful for all things.
- Maya Angelou
Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston is proud to announce that Lauren Freiberg has been named Assistant Manager of our Chapel Hill and Pittsboro real estate sales offices. In her new role, Freiberg will focus on agent recruitment and training to help grow our Chapel Hill and Pittsboro real estate teams, support existing sales associates, and gain additional market share over area competitors.
"I'm confident Lauren will be an asset to our Chapel Hill and Pittsboro real estate offices and teams," said Randy Cox, sales manager and broker-in-charge of the company's Chapel Hill and Pittsboro offices. "She brings a unique perspective to this leadership role having worked one-on-one with many of our company's agents as a trusted trainer and mentor. We will all benefit from her expertise."
In total, Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston's Chapel Hill and Pittsboro real estate sales offices support 85 agents and representatives. Located at 1600 East Franklin Street, the Chapel Hill office has led the Chapel Hill and Carrboro residential real estate markets since its inception in August 1985. The company's newer Pittsboro office located in Bellemont Station at 120 Lowes Drive has also ramped up quickly in the past two years.
"With Chatham Park on the way in Pittsboro and numerous projects breaking ground in and around Chapel Hill, there is significant development happening in this area," said Freiberg. "I'm excited to immerse myself in these markets to support our talented teams and recruit new agents to expand our services."
Lauren Freiberg joined Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston as a Realtor in December 2015 and transitioned in-house to be the company's Resource Trainer a year later. In that corporate role, she provided superior marketing and technology product support and guidance to more than 845 real estate agents in all of our 15 regional sales offices. Her ability to engage and empower agents to utilize new real estate tools and develop and execute strategic marketing plans proved to be successful, especially for new sales associates.
Before joining Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston, Freiberg served as a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser at Leatherman Real Estate Services in Raleigh for nearly six years. Prior to that, she worked as a project coordinator at McKinney marketing and advertising firm. Currently planning a trip to Portugal next year, Freiberg is an avid traveler having visited New Zealand, Iceland, and Montreal in the past two years. When she is not jet-setting across the globe, Freiberg, her husband Baker, and their spritely Goldendoodle Lily reside in Raleigh.
It's time to make your weekend to-do list! You'll want to watch the 73rd-annual Raleigh Christmas Parade, get a reservation to grab brunch out with the family, run a few errands, and house hunt, of course!
We may be heading into the winter real estate market, but there are plenty of houses to see and tour. In fact, our Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston real estate agents have planned more than 400 open houses over the next two days.
From Alamance County in the West to Wayne County in the East, our team has listed the homes today's buyers seek. You'll see new construction homes, ITB properties, downtown condos, front-porch bungalows, Craftsman-style designs, luxury townhomes, and so much more.

Our first Turkeys for the Triangle distribution event was a tremendous success!
Box trucks, cargo vans, pickup trucks, and SUVs lined up at our Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston corporate office to collect and deliver more than 2,500 frozen turkeys to nonprofit and military organizations across the Triangle region.
It was a great day to Help People Win, a commitment our company founder and chairman and Turkeys for the Triangle founder holds near and dear.
"I'll tell you what, it's one of those things," said Don Walston. "It's hard to describe the benefit when you see someone who really appreciates what you're doing for them– it's a– I don't know how to describe it but it's a warm feeling."
A four-year partner of our Turkeys for the Triangle program, Butterball generously donated 1,500 of the 2,500 turkeys we handed out this week.
"Butterball is proud to help supply the turkeys for the Thanksgiving Turkey Toss for the fourth straight year," said Kerry Doughty, company president and CEO. "Addressing the needs of the communities where our employees live and work is part of our core values of giving, and through our participation in Turkeys for the Triangle, we are able to serve families in need in the area we call home."
In front of a crowd of company volunteers and US Veterans Corps members, Walston and HPW Foundation President Matt Horton announced that Turkeys for the Triangle will add another 500 turkeys to its second holiday distribution event bringing its total Christmas donation to 1,500 birds.
With the additional birds, Turkeys for the Triangle will donate a record 4,500 turkeys to nourish neighbors this year.
We are grateful for the heroes who walk among us and all those who protected the freedoms we hold dear.
We honor you and your families.
Happy Veterans Day from our Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston family!
Wondering what to do this weekend? Pull out the winter coats, thank a veteran, and hunt for a house.

Veterans Day is an important day of recognition in our country.
It is a day to pay tribute to the numerous men and women who staked their lives for our own and proudly served to protect our families and freedoms. It's a day to show gratitude for our nation's heroes.
While we are always grateful for their commitment, we are especially thankful for the opportunity to recognize them on this day.
Our Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston real estate team proudly salutes all veterans in our local communities and across the nation for the sacrifices they made during their years of service.

'Cue, chicken, and charity! We're excited to share that Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston recently raised more than $23,800 for the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center as part of our Pig Out For the Cure fundraiser and commitment to Helping People Win.
"Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston and its team members are true friends of UNC Lineberger, and their support makes it possible for us to provide the people of North Carolina with the best cancer care today, and to conduct the research that will lead to even better treatments," said Martin Baucom, UNC Lineberger's senior executive director of development & communications.
Organized by our Chapel Hill and Pittsboro offices, our real estate sales associates sought out sponsors and sold barbecue plates to raise the money for the UNC Lineberger's Patient and Family Resource Center. The donation will bring our Pig Out For the Cure program's total contribution to UNC Lineberger to nearly $75,000 since 2010.
"We're very grateful to the many businesses and generous people who supported our Pig Out For The Cure fundraiser," said Randy Cox, sales manager and broker-in-charge of our Chapel Hill and Pittsboro offices. "Our team prepped and handed out more than 700 barbeque plates and had a great time doing it. We're proud that our effort will help to advance UNC Lineberger's mission to support those facing cancer."
