Jane’s experience as an educator serves her well, as she uses her great organizational skills and attention to detail to make sure nothing is missed in any transaction.
Pat and Jane have been married since 1980. They have two daughters, Brinkley who lives and works in New Orleans with her spouse, Alicia Franck, and Emily who lives and teaches in Durham with her husband Paul McAllister. Jane is an serious gardener and Pat is an avid sports fan. They like good food and great wine. They have a rescue dog named Harvey after the hurricane that brought her to them.
Pat is simply awesome (as is his business partner / wife, Jane). He was incredibly patient with our 6 month home search, showing us dozens and dozens of houses, and answering hundreds of phone calls and emails. He quickly understood what we were looking for in terms of house, neighborhood, community, and price, and was quick to point out the things he knew we would appreciate or dislike right away.
Pat recommended against making offers on homes that had significant problems; he advised on price ranges that were likely to be accepted or rejected; and in the end he helped us find and buy an amazing house for a great price.
Since I was moving from NY, I was somewhat clueless about the process, and Pat was a tremendous educator in that regard. He explained every detail (several times): showings, making an offer, due diligence and earnest money, inspections, closing process, etc.
Pat and Jane's combined knowledge of Orange County is also unsurpassed. Everything from housing trends and building codes, to local history, to where to find great beer or a good BLT sandwich.
And if their real estate skills weren't enough, they also became surrogate aunt and uncle to our son, who instantly adored them both!
Quite outstanding. Patrick is a real credit to the profession. He has gone above and beyond for me and our needs since Sunday. He has invested a significant amount of time with me since the hour I arrived. Patient, accommodating, organized, perceptive, a great listener, energetic... He has excellent knowledge of the areas, the history, the markets, the trends and how they apply to what we are looking for. Great advice and insight. Great followup. He listened carefully to our desired criteria and wasted no time preparing many tours all the while avoiding areas or properties he knew or predicted wouldn't work. I've learned a lot from him since Sunday. He taught and showed me more about this region than I could have ever learned on my own.
Clearly Pat is committed to the profession and how he can help a client more than simply selling property for numbers. I really appreciate his efforts.
Ps - he is also an expert in great little sandwich joints for lunch.
