I was born and raised in North Carolina and proud to still call it home. Although I grew up in Rocky Mount, I have lived in the Garner area for 35 years.
I received my BS/BA degree from East Carolina University and my MBA from Meredith College and started my career at Carolina Power & Light, now known as Duke Power. While at Duke Power, I held various positions including quality improvement specialist, instructor/development specialist, and project manager. After 16 years with Duke Power, I began working at NC State University where I remained for a little over 12 years as an instructor/consultant for industry as a part of NC State's Industrial Extension Service. The topics in which I specialized included problem solving, project managment, team work, leadership development, presentation skills, business planning, customer service, and quality improvement.
In the spring of 2013, I decided it was time to do something that I had wanted to do for quite some time and that was to venture into real estate. I really enjoy being able to help people realize their real estate dreams whether that means first time homeownership, downsizing, or upgrading. I especially enjoy the relationship building aspect of real estate and feel that my background provides me with the skills to be a trusted advisor to my clients.
I also have a passion for animals and over the past 20 years I have started two nonprofit organizations established for the rescue and adoption of cats and dogs. I have found that my two passions, real estate and animals, go together quite well. I have helped folks who have adopted a new pet from me find the perfect home for their family (including the furry family members) and I have helped real estate clients find the perfect furry addition to their family after purchasing a new home...both situations bring me great joy.
